Power and Energy Week

The government will observe `Power and Energy Week` on December 10-12, 2015 aiming to create public awareness about power and energy conservation and their efficient use, reports UNB. Officials at the Power and Energy Ministry said they have chalked out elaborate programs to observe the week across the country. President Abdul Hamid is scheduled to inaugurate the programs of the Power and Energy Week at a function at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the city on Thursday.

The function will include organizing exhibition of power and energy related products and services. Local and international firms from public and private sector are going to participate in the fair to showcase their products and services. The Power and Energy Ministry is also organizing seminars and symposiums at the BICC alongside the expo to discuss the government policies and strategies on the power and energy sector. The Power Division will organize a total of 4 seminars on December 11 and 12- two seminars on each day–one in the morning and another in the afternoon–on different topics. The ministry will also give awards to the officials and employees in the public sector entities in the power and energy sectors for their outstanding performances.
